Marshall Dennehey has been recognized as a finalist in four categories of The Legal Intelligencer and Law.com’s 2026 Pennsylvania Legal Awards, including the prestigious Attorney of the Year honor, for which John J. Hare, Chair of the firm’s Appellate Advocacy & Post-Trial Practice Group, and Executive Committee member, is a co-finalist. The categories are:

Marshall Dennehey announced today that two Philadelphia shareholders—John J. Hare and David J. Shannon—have once again been named to The Legal 500 Philadelphia Legal Elite.

Marshall Dennehey announced today that James H. Cole has been appointed Director of the firm’s 140+ attorney Professional Liability Department and Sunny Marie Sparano has been appointed Assistant Director. Cole is succeeding Craig S. Hudson as department director as well as a member of the firm’s Board of Directors. Hudson will remain with the firm in an Emeritus role.

Marshall Dennehey announced today that John J. Hare, chair of Marshall Dennehey’s Appellate Advocacy & Post-Trial Practice Group and a member of the firm’s Board of Directors, has been elected to the firm’s Executive Committee, effective January 1, 2026. Hare’s election took place at the firm’s annual shareholder meeting on December 9. He joins firm President & CEO, G.

Marshall Dennehey is pleased to announce that 16 attorneys have been elected shareholders of the firm effective Jan. 1, 2026. Additionally, two attorneys have been promoted from associate to special counsel. These new shareholders and special counsel represent the firm’s four core departments – Casualty, Professional Liability, Health Care and Workers’ Compensation – and come from 11 of the firm’s 19 offices.
