Marshall Dennehey Expands Florida Professional Liability Practice With Addition of Shareholder Brendan P. Smith in Orlando

Marshall Dennehey announced today that veteran trial lawyer Brendan P. Smith has joined the firm’s Orlando office as a shareholder. Formerly a name partner at a civil defense firm, Smith brings extensive trial experience and strategic insight to the firm.

As a member of Marshall Dennehey’s Professional Liability Department, Smith focuses his practice on the defense of auto manufacturers in all stages of their warranty litigation from pre-suit, arbitration and jury trials. He also represents insurance carriers in coverage disputes and alleged bad faith actions, frequently handling coverage disputes involving windstorm claims, interior water damage claims, mold claims and remediation claims.

“Brendan’s diverse legal background, from his early years as a public defender to his work representing major automotive and insurance clients, speaks to his versatility and depth of experience,” said Craig Hudson, Director of Marshall Dennehey’s Professional Liability Department and member of the firm’s Executive Committee. “We’re thrilled to welcome him to the firm and know he will play an important role in advancing our Professional Liability practice in Florida.”

With nearly two decades of legal experience, Smith has tried cases throughout Florida on behalf of a wide range of clients. He began his career as a public defender in Miami-Dade County, where he gained extensive courtroom and trial experience. Over the years, he has defended many major American and European automotive companies in both state and federal court, as well as at the administrative level.

Smith earned his bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary and his Juris Doctor from Saint Thomas University College of Law.
