Overview
Joslyn M. Restivo is a member of the Casualty department where she handles matters involving Personal Injury Protection (PIP) benefits, special investigations (SIU) and fraud. She has taken Examinations Under Oath on SIU related issues throughout parts of Florida. As a value to her clients, Joslyn provides defense analysis reports and routinely conducts and defends depositions, conducts examinations under oath, argues various motions and engages in written discovery. When a client faces legal challenges, Joslyn works in tandem with them supporting the client through negotiation of settlements and takes advantage of the benefits of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration, whenever possible. She represents her client vigorously through all stages of litigation.
Joslyn began her career as an Assistant Public Defender for the 17th Judicial Circuit in Broward County, Florida. She has extensive litigation experience in criminal justice. She practiced in county and felony court, domestic violence divisions, both county and felony, and was a supervising attorney in the courtroom. She has taken countless of depositions and has tried numerous jury and bench trials to verdict. After her career in public service, Joslyn began her career in civil litigation at one of Florida’s largest Plaintiff Personal Injury Protection firms’.
Joslyn is a Florida native, born and raised in Fort Lauderdale in Broward County and attended Florida Atlantic University as an undergraduate where she studied Criminal Justice and Anthropology. She earned her juris doctor from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center. During law school, she worked at a large litigation firm specializing in foreclosure defense and business law. She was also a Certified Legal Intern for the Office of the Public Defender, 17th Judicial Circuit.
Joslyn is based out of the Fort Lauderdale office and spends her spare time traveling with her husband and two children.
