John G. Coleman

Associate

    John G. Coleman is an attorney in the Casualty Department whose practice focuses on product liability, construction injury, automobile liability, and trucking and transportation liability matters. He represents clients across a wide range of industries, bringing both courtroom experience and strategic insight to complex litigation.

    John began his career as an associate at a defense litigation firm where he represented clients in premises liability, commercial litigation, and personal injury matters, often serving as lead counsel in arbitrations and trials. He also defended institutional clients, including religious and nonprofit organizations, in connection with historical allegations of abuse.

    Prior to joining Marshall Dennehey, John practiced at a national business law firm in Philadelphia, where he litigated civil matters to conclusion, including developing case strategy, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, and preparing dispositive motions. His work emphasizes mass tort and products liability defense, while also extending to construction injury and transportation-related claims.

    John earned his J.D., cum laude, from Temple University’s James E. Beasley School of Law, where he distinguished himself academically and gained valuable experience as a judicial intern for the Honorable C. Darnell Jones II of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He holds a B.A. in History from Villanova University. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

    Outside of his practice, John enjoys snowboarding, golf, travel, and exploring new podcasts.
