Attorney obtained a defense verdict in an auto negligence trial. The plaintiff alleged that she sustained two lumbar herniations, cervical radiculopathy and knee pain as a result of the chain-reaction rear end accident. The plaintiff underwent five lumbar epidural steroid injections, as well as two sets of lumbar facet blocks. Plaintiff presented a pain management expert and a chiropractic expert. The defense stipulated liability. The defense presented an orthopedic expert, whose opinion was that the plaintiff had preexisting arthritis/degenerative changes in her spine that predated the subject accident and was not a permanent injury related to the subject accident. The jury voted unanimously that the plaintiff did not sustain a permanent injury as a result of the accident.
