Whitley V. Smith

    Whitley is a member of the Professional Liability Department where she focuses her practice on the representation of law firms, attorneys and employers. 

    Prior to joining Marshall Dennehey, Whitley served as a Legal Investigative Intern for New York State Division of Human Rights. She also worked at various law firms where she gained experience with a variety of matters including, but not limited to, real estate, intellectual property and bankruptcy. In addition, Whitley previously appeared in New York City Civil, Housing and Supreme Courts to orally argue motions and orders to show cause as well as serving as second chair during trials. 

    Whitley received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with a minor in History from James Madison University.  She earned her juris doctor from New York Law School. During law school, Whitley was a member of the Faculty Appointments Committee, an organization composed of students voted on by the faculty that interviews prospective professors and provides feedback to the Dean and Board.
