Kara M. DeMarco

Kara focuses her practice on workers’ compensation matters, and has defended employers in Northeast and Central Pennsylvania for nearly 20 years. Her representation of employers has included oil and gas drilling and infrastructure, as well as major case/catastrophic loss matters. Kara is also part of our Medicare Compliance team and is highly experienced in handling claims within this nuanced and technical practice area.

After serving as senior staff counsel at Travelers, Kara returned to Marshall Dennehey in 2023. She was previously with the firm early in her legal career and subsequently was a hearing officer for Federal Hearings and Appeals services, adjudicating Medicare claims.   

Kara attended the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University for her Juris Doctorate. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Wilkes University. Outside of the office, Kara enjoys writing and hiking.
