    Significant Representative Matters

Had a significant role in the management of a matter involving motions filed to preserve the client’s claims for contribution against several settling codefendants. Plaintiff and co-defendants opposed the respective motions. This led to extensive motion practice and a lengthy oral argument. The defense's motions were supported by the Joint Tortfeasor Act, as well as case law which allows for claims of contribution to be preserved. During lengthy oral argument, the court directed a consent order be entered which preserved the client’s crossclaims. The client would later be settled out of the matter.

Sat second chair at trial with responsibilities including participating in jury selection, preparing for examination of witnesses, and drafting opening statements. Drafted pretrial submissions, in limine motions and prepared evidence for trial presentation. The matter settled during the early stages of the trial.

Part of the team that managed a case involving summary judgment dismissal of the client based upon their limited involvement as well as the lack of any expert testimony criticizing her care of the patient. Summary judgment was granted, and the matter settled a few weeks after the disposition of this motion.

Involved in the management of a matter opposing plaintiff’s motion to amend the complaint to include new parties. The motion was opposed based upon the readily available identity of the parties since the complaint was filed, compounded with plaintiff’s lack of a good-faith basis explaining the delay to add the parties. The plaintiff's motion was denied.

Involved in the management of a matter, where, after several case management conferences and request to depose plaintiff’s expert, a summary judgment motion was filed based upon plaintiff’s failure to present their expert witness. The motion was granted and the matter was dismissed.
