Jessica A. Cousett

    Jessica is a member of the Professional Liability Department where she focuses her practice on the defense of professionals, including lawyers, accountants, architects and engineers, real estate professionals and directors and officers. She also assists with privacy and data breach matters, helping clients to reduce cyber risk exposures and navigate incident response, containment, and compliance measures following a data breach.

    Jessica has extensive experience representing clients in complex litigation and construction matters. She has been practicing law in South Florida since 2021 and has experience representing a variety of business and insurance companies in professional liability, complex litigation and employment litigation, including employment discrimination, wrongful retaliation, unfair labor practices, and wage and hour matters. Her practice includes representing clients in both federal and state courts and before various administrative agencies.

    Prior to practicing civil litigation, Jessica previously was a prosecutor with the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office where she gained valuable courtroom and trial experience.

    Jessica received her juris doctor from Emory University School of Law, where she served as Managing Editor for The Emory International Law Review. She also had a variety of leadership roles in law school, including Advocacy Chair of the Black Law Students' Association, and Senior Mentor of the University's Pre-Law Pipeline Program. Additionally, Jessica worked as a law clerk for GE Aviation, and completed internships with the National Labor Relations Board and the U.S. Department of Transportation.
