Janki S. Patel

Associate

    Janki is a member of the Professional Liability Department where she focuses her practice on the defense of employment-related claims, including, but not limited to allegations of discrimination, violation of employment-related statutes, wrongful discharge, and breach of contract. Prior to becoming an associate, Janki served as a summer law clerk at Marshall Dennehey. 

    Before arriving at Marshall Denney, Janki previously worked as a summer law clerk for another firm headquartered in Philadelphia, where she assisted with the preparation and review of franchise disclosure documents and handled numerous research assignments.

    A graduate of Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, Janki was a highly accomplished student. She made the 2024 Dean’s List for her exceptional academic performance. Additionally, she was an Executive Board Member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution team where she honed her negotiation skills. Further, Janki was a member of Drexel’s Student Bar Association and an Executive Board Member for Drexel’s Asian Pacific American Law Student Association. Janki also completed a legal externship during law school with a prominent hospitality company, gaining ample experience with reviewing legal contracts and agreements. Additionally, Janki was very active in her local community at Drexel. She completed pro bono work with the Dornsife Estate Planning Clinic where she helped low-income Philadelphians set up wills, powers of attorney and medical derivatives. 

    Prior to law school, Janki worked as a Corporate Sales and Revenue Manager for a hospitality management group overseeing a portfolio of nearly a dozen hotel properties. In this role, she gained valuable client relation, market research and data analysis experience. 

    Janki received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, majoring in Communication. She is licensed to practice in the state of New Jersey.
