Attorney obtained a defense verdict of no negligence in favor of defendant OB-Gyn. Plaintiffs alleged that a six-month delay in diagnosis of ovarian clear cell carcinoma resulted in a much poorer prognosis for the 38 year old nurse and new mother. They alleged that a follow-up ultrasound should have been done post-partum when an ultrasound during pregnancy showed a cyst-like mass on the ovary and/or delivery should have been achieved via C-section to check the mass at that time. Defense attorney defended the case based upon other, intervening ultrasounds showed no mass, suggesting that it had been only a cyst, and based upon no findings on palpation during physical exam at her post-partum evaluation.
