Marshall Dennehey has been named to the 2014 Honor Roll of Legal Organizations Welcoming Women Professionals by the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Commission on Women in the Profession. The firm was selected for its programs and initiatives that help women lawyers continue and advance in their professional careers, including overall culture and atmosphere, mentorship opportunities, flexible work schedules, annual women's events, and its high numbers of female attorneys and women in positions of leadership at the firm.

Niki T. Ingram, Shareholder and Assistant Director of the Workers' Compensation Department, was a featured speaker at the Philly I-Day conference, held April 9 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Ms. Ingram and a distinguished speaker panel presented, "Diversity and Inclusion in the Insurance Industry – A Critical Success Factor." The discussion explored how embracing diversity can improve communications, employee and customer satisfaction, productivity and, ultimately, insurance industry growth and profitability.

Oral arguments presented before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court by John J. Hare, shareholder and chair of Marshall Dennehey's Appellate Advocacy and Post-Trial Practice Group, have led to a unanimous decision by the Court to reinstate a long-standing statutory employer defense for general contractors and others who are sued in tort for injuries to subcontractors' employees. Representing Worthington in Patton v Worthington Associates, Hare successfully argued that the statutory employer issue is a matter of law and not one to be decided by a jury.

Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin announced today the opening of a new office in Cincinnati, Ohio, with the addition of Ray C. Freudiger, a seasoned litigator and former partner of Freund Freeze & Arnold in Dayton. Samuel G. Casolari Jr., of Marshall Dennehey's Cleveland office, will relocate to Cincinnati as the office's Managing Attorney, and both lawyers will serve as the office's founding shareholders. Located downtown at 312 Elm Street, the office will open March 10.

Marshall Dennehey has relocated its Long Island office from Hauppauge to Melville, to accommodate the firm's continued expansion in the Empire State. Effective today, the new office address is Melville Corporate Center I, 105 Maxess Road, Suite 303, Melville, NY 11747.

Andrew M. Schwartz has been named chair of the firm's Consumer Financial Services Litigation & Compliance Practice Group. In this capacity, Mr. Schwartz oversees a team of attorneys devoted to the defense of financial institutions, debt servicers and buyers, auto finance companies, collection attorneys, student lenders, telecommunications providers, mortgage lenders and credit reporting agencies. In addition to serving as national counsel, the group routinely handles matters in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, New York, Florida and Maryland.
