John J. Hare and Heather Russell Fine Selected to Join the International Association of Defense Counsel

John J. Hare, co-chair of the Appellate Advocacy and Post-Trial Practice Group at Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin, and Heather Russell Fine, shareholder in the firm’s Casualty Department, have been selected to join the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC). The IADC is an invitation-only organization of 2,500 peer-reviewed inside and outside counsel, and insurance industry executives representing companies across the world.

As appellate and litigation counsel, Mr. Hare has represented individuals, insurers and corporations in some of the most high-profile litigation in recent Pennsylvania history, including dozens of cases with multimillion dollar verdicts and settlements. He has litigated more than 350 appeals in the state and federal courts. He is an appointed member of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s Civil Procedural Rules Committee, and formerly served on the Board of Governors of the Bar Association of the Third Federal Circuit and as co-chair of the amicus curiae committee of the Pennsylvania Defense Institute. Last year, he published his second book: The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania; Life and Law in the Commonwealth; 1684-2017 (Pennsylvania State University Press, 2018).

Ms. Fine is an experienced trial attorney focusing her practice on complex product liability and mass tort defense matters, with emphasis on the representation of automotive manufacturers, regional product manufacturers, foodservice retailers and retail corporations. Through her national practice, she manages all aspects of complex product liability cases from inception through to verdict and appeal. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute.
