Mohamed N. Bakry to Moderate Panel at DRI’s Diversity For Success Seminar

Mohamed N. Bakry, shareholder in the Philadelphia office of Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin and member of the firm’s Diversity Committee, will moderate a presentation at the 2021 DRI Diversity For Success seminar, to be held June 16 – 18, 2021 in New Orleans, Louisiana. In their session, “A Conversation About Racial Justice in America,” Mr. Bakry and panelists will explore the inequities related to racial justice and address ways to move the dialogue into action so that the cycle of injustice can be broken.

Devoted to social justice and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, Mr. Bakry is a member of the DRI’s Diversity Committee and serves as the Committee’s Liaison Chair.  He is Chair of the Board for Justice For Our Neighbors of the Delaware Valley, a non-profit organization that provides legal services to immigrants and refugees in the Greater Philadelphia area. 

In his casualty litigation practice at Marshall Dennehey, Mr. Bakry focuses on the defense of wrongful death cases within the areas of product liability, premises liability, and transportation. In this capacity, he defends manufacturers, property owners, retailers, and product suppliers against claims alleging assault and battery, defects on the premises, acts of negligent third parties, improper maintenance of the premises, negligent service, design defects, failure to warn, and breach of warranty. As a former public defender, he also represents clients facing misdemeanor and felony criminal charges. 

Mr. Bakry is the Second Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the Lawyers Club of Philadelphia. He is additionally a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations.

A graduate of Rutgers University, he earned his J.D. from the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law, and is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
