Niesha R. Gibbs-Rowden

Niesha is a member of the Health Care Department where she focuses her practice on the defense of health care professionals and institutions in medical malpractice and professional liability litigation.

Prior to joining Marshall Denehey, Niesha served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force, gaining extensive trial experience in civil and criminal matters. She represented the United States in courts-martial, advised leadership and law enforcement on operational and investigative issues, oversaw trial preparation, managed pretrial investigations and discovery, and led courtroom proceedings. Her assignments included North Dakota, Mississippi, and a deployment to Cuba.

Niesha earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Old Dominion University and Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond School of Law. While in law school, she served as a Managing Editor of the Journal of Law and Technology and as Vice President of the Black Law Student Association. She was also an active member of the Trial Advocacy Board, winning the Intra-Scholastic competition.

Niesha gained valuable legal experience as an extern for the Honorable Judge Roger L. Gregory, U.S. Court Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. In this role, she drafted opinions and memoranda on a variety of legal issues. Niesha also worked as as a legal intern with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, appearing in several hearings and assisting with all facets of case preparation.
