Overview
Niesha is a member of the Health Care Department where she focuses her practice on the defense of health care professionals and institutions in medical malpractice and professional liability litigation.
Prior to joining Marshall Dennehey, Niesha served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force, gaining extensive trial experience in civil and criminal matters. As a prosecutor, she represented the Government at federal trials for serious and complex felony cases. Prior to separating from active duty, Niesha deployed to Cuba where she served as a legal advisor to senior military leaders and returned stateside to oversee over 50 prosecutors and paralegals across several military installations.
Niesha earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Old Dominion University and Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond School of Law. While in law school, she served as a Managing Editor of the Journal of Law and Technology and as Vice President of the Black Law Student Association. She was also an active member of the Trial Advocacy Board, winning the Intra-Scholastic competition.
Additionally, Niesha gained valuable legal experience as an extern for the Honorable Judge Roger L. Gregory, U.S. Court Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. In this role, she drafted opinions and memoranda on a variety of legal issues. Niesha also worked as as a legal intern with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, appearing in several hearings and assisting with all facets of case preparation.
