Sang Woo Lee Named to 2014 Lawyers of Color Hot List

Sang Woo Lee, associate in the Philadelphia office of Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin, was recently named to the Lawyers of Color (LOC) Hot List for the Eastern U.S. region. The Hot List recognizes outstanding, mid-career minority attorneys under the age of 40, following a nomination process that includes selection committee review and internal candidate research.

Marshall Dennehey Shareholders Receive Top Honors as 2014 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers

Three Marshall Dennehey shareholders have received top honors in the 2014 edition of Pennsylvania Super Lawyers magazine.

For the eighth consecutive year, Daniel J. Sherry, shareholder in the firm's King of Prussia office, has been named to the "Top 100 Attorneys in Pennsylvania" and the "Top 100 Attorneys in Philadelphia" Super Lawyers lists. Mr. Sherry focuses his practice in complex health care liability matters including brain injury litigation and medical malpractice defense.

Niki Ingram Speaks on Diversity at Philly I-Day

Niki T. Ingram, Shareholder and Assistant Director of the Workers' Compensation Department, was a featured speaker at the Philly I-Day conference, held April 9 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Ms. Ingram and a distinguished speaker panel presented, "Diversity and Inclusion in the Insurance Industry – A Critical Success Factor." The discussion explored how embracing diversity can improve communications, employee and customer satisfaction, productivity and, ultimately, insurance industry growth and profitability.

Marshall Dennehey's Appellate Advocacy and Post-Trial Practice Group Achieves Unanimous PA Supreme Court Decision in Patton v. Worthington

Oral arguments presented before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court by John J. Hare, shareholder and chair of Marshall Dennehey's Appellate Advocacy and Post-Trial Practice Group, have led to a unanimous decision by the Court to reinstate a long-standing statutory employer defense for general contractors and others who are sued in tort for injuries to subcontractors' employees. Representing Worthington in Patton v Worthington Associates, Hare successfully argued that the statutory employer issue is a matter of law and not one to be decided by a jury.

Andrew Schwartz Named Chair of Consumer Financial Services Litigation & Compliance Practice Group

Andrew M. Schwartz has been named chair of the firm's Consumer Financial Services Litigation & Compliance Practice Group. In this capacity, Mr. Schwartz oversees a team of attorneys devoted to the defense of financial institutions, debt servicers and buyers, auto finance companies, collection attorneys, student lenders, telecommunications providers, mortgage lenders and credit reporting agencies. In addition to serving as national counsel, the group routinely handles matters in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, New York, Florida and Maryland.
