On the Pulse...Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin Expands East

On the Pulse...

On October 1, 2011, the newest and easternmost addition to the Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin family of offices opened. The Hauppauge, New York, office became the third Marshall Dennehey office in New York and became "New York 3." For those of you who are not familiar with Long Island, Hauppauge is located approximately thirty miles from the beginning of the forks of Long Island and the summer vacation destination commonly referred to as "The Hamptons." The office expands the firm's presence in New York and its commitment to providing a strong legal presence throughout the state.

The Long Island office complements the firm's already prominent place in the arena of asbestos defense. Six lawyers, seven paralegals, three secretaries and one office manager became part of the Marshall Dennehey team when the Long Island office opened. Two of those lawyers and one secretary are residents of the Roseland, New Jersey, office but are part of the New York asbestos defense team. The entire group – all 17 employees – had been with the New Jersey firm of Weiner Lesniak prior to joining Marshall Dennehey, where they had worked together in the defense of asbestos cases, primarily in the state of New York, but with some involvement in asbestos cases in New Jersey and throughout the country. Nearly all the group had been with Weiner Lesniak for nearly six years and most had been together for over fifteen years at the Long Island office of L'Abbate, Balkan, Colavita & Contini prior to that. You might say they are a group that travels together.

Currently, the focus of the Long Island office is in the defense of asbestos exposure cases, but, the goal of all involved is to expand the practice of the office to include a broader spectrum of cases. The office's location is ideal for easy access to all courts on Long Island, as well as the courts throughout the state. In fact, the Long Island attorneys have appeared in courts throughout the state of New York. Our new office on Long Island gives us an even stronger presence in New York and allows the firm to reinforce its commitment to all of our clients in the region.
