Marshall Dennehey Renews Firm Headquarters Lease At 2000 Market Street
Marshall Dennehey, P.C. has renewed its lease at 2000 Market Street in Philadelphia where the Am Law 200 firm has been headquartered since 2012. As the building’s largest tenant, its 10-year, 120,462-square-foot lease renewal signifies the firm’s ongoing commitment to Center City, Philadelphia and the surrounding region, as well as a strategic initiative to scale the firm’s global occupancy footprint to meet current marketplace demand.
“Real estate is a significant operating cost for all law firms and in light of technology’s impact on the modern law office, it makes excellent business sense to consolidate our office space and keep our headquarters office at 2000 Market Street,” said G. Mark Thompson, Marshall Dennehey’s President & CEO. “We’re restructuring large, outdated file rooms and other areas to reduce our footprint by over 13,000 square feet, while at the same time redesigning workspaces for enhanced collaboration and efficiency. Property management has been cooperative and flexible in working with us while we evolve. The building is in a prime location with easy access to the courts, our clients, the business district and public transportation.”
Marshall Dennehey moved to 2000 Market from 1845 Walnut Street in 2012, when it became the building’s largest tenant. Approximately 25 percent (129) of Marshall Dennehey’s attorneys and 211 administrative and professional staff work out of the firm’s Philadelphia office. The firm’s next largest offices include Mount Laurel, NJ, with 55 attorneys; and Roseland, NJ, King of Prussia, PA and Pittsburgh, PA, with approximately 40 attorneys in each office.
Within the past year, the firm has added, expanded or consolidated its real estate occupancy in other markets. The firm moved to new offices in Jacksonville, Florida and expanded existing office space in its Long Island office to accommodate growth. In New York, the firm consolidated space and moved to new offices within the same building.
