Allison A. Snyder

Special Counsel

    Allison is a member of the firm's Appellate Advocacy and Post-Trial Practice Group.  She has significant experience in both state appellate and federal courts drafting persuasive briefs and performing effective oral argument.

    With nearly 30 years of writing experience, Allison is adept at drafting appeals based on in-depth legal research and analysis, in addition to drafting dispositive motions, trial memoranda and post-trial motions. 

    Prior to joining Marshall Dennehey, Allison served as the head of the appellate department for a New York City law firm where she drafted and argued appeals involving construction (New York Labor Law), asbestos, motor vehicle and premises liability claims. She has experience defending general liability claims, including product liability, foodborne illness, aviation and toxic tort claims. 

    Allison has appeared for oral argument before the New York Court of Appeals and in the First and Second Departments of the Appellate Division.

    Significant Representative Matters

    Drafted successful summary judgment motion resulting in dismissal of the negligence claims against handgun distributor in federal tort action arising from mass casualty criminal event.

    Moore-Reason v. Manhattan College, 2025 Slip Op. 00403 (1st Dept. 2025, Jan. 28, 2025) (reversed and granted insured owner's motion to strike the plaintiff's errata sheet to deposition testimony) 

    Ruisech v. Structure Tone, 2024 Slip Op. 05866 (New York Court of Appeals, Nov. 25, 2024) (affirmed dismissal of the plaintiff’s appeal against insured general contractor, including Labor Law §§ 241(6) and 200/common-law negligence claims)

    Gervasi v. FSP 787 Seventh LLC, 2024 Slip Op. 3135 (1st Dept. 2024) (reversed and directed conditional grant of summary judgment on insured owner and general contractor's contractual indemnification claims against subcontractor)

    Quezada v. Structure Tone, Inc., 2024 Slip Op. 1830 (2d Dept. 2024) (reversed and directed dismissal of complaint against insured general contractor in premises liability action)

    Corniel v. CCA Civil-Halmar International, LLC, 215 A.D.3d 731 (2d Dept. 2023) (affirmed dismissal of complaint against insured general contractor in motor vehicle action involving highway construction project) 

    Widdecombe v. Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc., 211 A.D.3d 450 (1st Dept. 2022) (reversed grant of summary judgment to plaintiff on Labor Law § 240(1) claim and upon search of record directed dismissal of Labor Law § 241(6) claim against insured municipal defendant) 

    Yang v. City of New York, 207 A.D.3d 791 (2d Dept. 2022) (affirmed grant of summary judgment to insured owner and general contractor on contractual indemnification claim against subcontractor)

    Gonzalez v. DOLP 205 Props. II, LLC, 206 A.D.3d 468 (1st Dept. 2022) (reversed grant of summary judgment to plaintiff on Labor Law § 240(1) claim against insured owner and general contractor)
