We obtained summary judgment on behalf of our clients, a lawyer and law firm, in a complex legal malpractice case involving multiple underlying parties and cases. We persuaded the court that our clients were not jointly liable in negligence with the lawyer who allowed the default in the original case. This case involved a complicated interpretation of the Uniform Joint Tortfeasor Act, which was originally rejected by the judge on motions to dismiss filed by the various defendants, but was ultimately adopted in response to our attorneys' motion for summary judgment.
