The Pennsylvania Insurance Fraud Prevention Authority (IFPA), together with the Delaware Valley and Greater Pittsburgh Chapters of the International Association of Special Investigation Units (IASIU),will jointly host the 2020 Pennsylvania Insurance Fraud Conference on April 2nd and 3rd.

Attorneys James Cole and Jennie Philip (Philadelphia ) will present their session: Phishing for Answers: Cyber Crime & Insurance Coverage, and discuss how cyber crime impacts the insurance industry. Topics will include the interplay of insurance coverage in relations to claims involving ransomware, e-mail hacking and phishing schemes, data breach and cryptocurrency. The unique challenges of interpreting coverage under policies written long before the era of Bitcoin will also be addressed.

Additionally, attorneys Anthony Natale III and Ashley Eldridge (Philadelphia) will present on the topic: Prosecuting Workers’ Compensation Fraud. Participants will be introduced to the steps of identifying and prosecuting workers' compensation fraud. The presentation will start with a video of a fraudulent injury and begin an interactive journey through the criminal and civil prosecution methods for workers' compensation fraud.
