Advanced Forum on Obstetric Malpractice Claims

Stephen Ryan, chair of the firm’s Birth and Catastrophic Injury Litigation Practice Group, is the co-chair and a presenter at the upcoming 18^th Annual Advanced Forum on Obstetric Malpractice Claims Conference. In “Evaluating the Pros and Cons of Mother and Child Genetic Testing – Defense and Plaintiff Perspective,” Steve and his co-presenter will examine criteria for when genetic testing should be performed, explore the potential consequences of failure to diagnose genetic condition in utero, and analyze the increasing amount of scientific literature suggesting that genetics may play a much larger role in abnormalities at birth than previously thought.
