Robert W. Stanko
Areas of Practice
Rob Stanko is a shareholder in the Casualty Department, where he defends insureds and self-insured entities against catastrophic injury claims in state and federal court related to product liability, premises liability and commercial transportation. Rob’s clients include construction companies, governmental transportation and maritime agencies, and one of the largest international retail stores in the world. He also represents several hotel operators and travel agencies both domestic and abroad. His representative matters include cases arising from incidents in Mexico, Greece, and Vietnam, among several other countries.
In each case he handles, Rob is responsible for identifying and implementing litigation strategies to accommodate the particular intricacies of the underlying facts. He has thrived in this role, obtaining several summary judgments and successfully defending numerous matters at arbitration and trial. Rob is also often called upon in the immediate aftermath of an incident to ensure his clients’ interests are protected. His constant attention to detail and investigative skill have proven invaluable in reducing his clients’ exposure and securing favorable resolutions. Since 2014, Rob has been selected by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in the field of Civil Litigation Defense, a recognition awarded to no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys under the age of 40 in the region.
Prior to joining Marshall Dennehey, Rob served as a law clerk to the Honorable Thomas G. Saylor, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Editorial Board of Young Lawyer, a publication of the Legal Intelligencer, the oldest daily legal newspaper in the United States. Rob also advises law students from Dickinson and Villanova through his participation in mentor and mock interview programs.
