Michael S. Miller, Jr.

Shareholder

    Michael is a shareholder focusing his practice in the areas of general liability, including matters involving premises liability, trucking, transportation, and motor vehicle accidents. He also handles matters involving planned community association disputes and travel-related claims. 

    Michael has been practicing in the area of insurance casualty defense for most of his career and has obtained numerous favorable outcomes for his clients. Prior to joining Marshall Dennehey, he held an associate position at a prominent area defense firm.

    Michael earned a J.D. from Widener University School of Law in 2010 and a B.S. in Journalism and Political Science from West Chester University. During law school, Michael interned with the Pennsylvania Departments of State and Environmental Protection and in the Office of the Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. While at West Chester, Michael served as an editor of the student newspaper and was a member of the rugby team.

    Significant Representative Matters

    Obtained a voluntary dismissal for a general contractor client after preliminary objections in a construction defect action. Plaintiff asserted claims of fraud, unjust enrichment, misrepresentation, conversion, breach of warranty, breach of contract, and made claims under the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law.

    Obtained summary judgment in a premises liability action in Chester County, Pennsylvania where the Plaintiff suffered a hip injury and subsequently had hip replacement surgery.

    Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a large supermarket chain in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
