Katherine E. Bavoso
Areas of Practice
Katherine concentrates her practice exclusively in the defense of workers’ compensation claims for carriers, TPAs, and self-insured employers in Pennsylvania. With over 20 years of experience, she has practiced before most of the judges statewide, the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board, and the Commonwealth Court. Katherine is a graduate of the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University where she was a member of both the appellate and trial moot court boards. She was also on the environmental law review. While at Dickinson, Katherine clerked for Judge Geoffrey Berry of the 9th Judicial District in Goshen, New York, and also clerked for an insurance defense firm. Prior to Dickinson, Katherine graduated from the University of Florida summa cum laude. She was a sister with the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
Katherine is active in the legal communities on both the local and state level. She served as the Chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section statewide through the Pennsylvania Bar Association from 2019-2020. She also sat/sits on the Certification Committee, Membership Committee, Fall Section Planning Meeting Committee, and the Stanly Siegel County Bar Association Award Committee. In 2020, Katherine was chosen to sit on the state Bar Association’s multi-practice committee to discuss implementing policies during COVID-19. She is also a member of the Dauphin County Bar Association.
A frequent speaker at conferences and seminars on topics related to workers’ compensation, Katherine has presented at the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Bureau Conference, the Tough Problems in Workers’ Compensation seminar, and the Best Practices in Workers’ Compensation seminar.
