Ida M. Fuda

    Ida  is a member of the Workers' Compensation Department, and focuses her practice on the defense of employers in workers' compensation actions. Ida has a diverse background in general liability, medical malpractice defense and professional liability. She has developed a wealth of knowledge and experience in the areas of condo/community association law, general liability and premises liability, and has represented numerous associations, business owners and property owners in their defense.   

    After completing an accelerated three year program, Ida earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The College of New Jersey in Ewing in 2001. Ida then attended Pace University School of Law, where she participated in the Health Law and Disability Rights Clinic, representing clients under a student practice order.  She completed her juris doctor at Pace University School of Law in 2004, as the youngest member of her graduating class. Thereafter, Ida was admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey and the United States District Court of the State of New Jersey.

    Prior to joining Marshall Dennehey, Ida began her legal career representing plaintiffs in various areas of civil litigation. In 2006, Ida joined a well known and respected medical malpractice firm, where she concentrated her practice in the defense of physicians and hospitals in professional liability matters.

    Ida has been chosen by the American Society of Legal Advocates (ASLA) as one of the top 40 litigation attorneys under 40 in the State of New Jersey.

     

     

    Significant Representative Matters

    Successful defense and dismissal of a workers' compensation claim for failure to demonstrate the claim was within the scope of employment.

    Successful defense and assistance in the ultimate dismissal of a criminal legal malpractice claim.

    Successful defense and ultimate dismissal of plaintiff's product liability claim of a manufacturing defect in a well-known household brand name.

    Successful defense and no cause arbitration result of bowling alley in a dram shop fatality case.

    Successful defense and summary dismissal of premises liability claim involving a near fatal accident in which plaintiff was driven over and nearly killed by a motor vehicle.

    Successful defense of a premises liability claim resulting in a resolution of a case involving serious bodily injuries for 1/10 the amount contributed by co-defendant.

    Successful summary dismissal of four of five counts of claim under New Jersey Law Against Discrimination.

    At the Request of the Honorable Keith A. Bachmann, J.S.C., Ida has volunteered her time as a mediator and has successfully settled several claims.
