A directed verdict obtained in a wrongful discharge suit. The plaintiff claimed that the employer/hospital violated the public policy exception to at-will employment by relatliating against her for associating with a patient who sued the employer; that her conduct was protected under the 1st Amendement and the Pennsylvania Constitution. We presented evidence that plaintiff verbally abused a patient. Court agreed with our argument that plaintiff failed to prove that the justification for her termination was a pretext and that the justification was a legitimate business decision.
