Attorneys obtained summary judgment on behalf of a correctional facilities management company in a class action Title VII lawsuit filed by the EEOC alleging religious discrimination of employees at a correctional facility.  The class consisted of female Muslim employees who wished to wear a khimar while at work in the facility.  The District Court held that the Third Circuit's recent decision in Webb v. City of Philadelphia, in which the court ruled that a female Muslim police officer did not have the right to wear a khimar on duty, applied equally to a county prison.  The prison's policy of forbidding any type of head covering, including a khimar, did not violate Title VII's prohibition against religious discrimination.
