Attorney obtained a defense verdict after a week of trial. Plaintiff sued an Obstetrician/Gynecologist alleging that her ureter was injured during a hysterectomy, and that the physician did not timely diagnose the injury. Plaintiff's injures and damages included an obstruction to the ureter resulting in hydronephrosis or distension of the kidney with urine from the obstructed outflow, requiring a nephrostomy tube to drain the kidney and a subsequent surgery to reimplant the ureter to the bladder. The jury deliberated for approximately 30 minutes before returning a verdict in favor of the defendant doctor.
