The central office of Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at 2000 Market Street, just blocks from iconic City Hall. The dynamic growth and entrepreneurial spirit of our firm is paralleled by the intensified business spirit of Philadelphia, the home of many health, legal, manufacturing, architectural and engineering enterprises.

Philadelphia is the nation's fifth largest metropolitan area and is the second largest city on the East Coast. It boasts the presence of some 49 colleges and universities, 24 teaching hospitals and a state-of-the-art telecommunications and information system.

The contrast between the historical aspects of Philadelphia, with such notable attractions as the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and the Betsy Ross House, and its new and growing skyline, consisting of such ambitious modern structures as Liberty Place and other skyscrapers, is quite striking.

Philadelphia is the home of a number of "firsts" in America, including:

  • 1731 - First library in America, the Philadelphia Library, was founded by Benjamin Franklin.
  • 1736 - First American fire-fighting company was called the Union.
  • 1751 - First independent hospital in America was Pennsylvania Hospital (still in operation).
  • 1777 - First American flag was made by Elizabeth (Betsy) Ross at her home on 239 Arch Street.
  • 1779 - First American university was The University of Pennsylvania (one year before Harvard).
  • 1790 - First capital of the United States was Philadelphia until it was moved to Washington in 1800.
  • 1805 - First art museum and school of fine arts was the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
  • 1809 - First American theatre was the Walnut Street Theatre (still active today).
  • 1874 - First American zoo was established at 34th Street and Girard Avenue.
  • 1932 - First cheesesteak was invented by the legendary "King of Steaks," Pat Olivieri (concession in South Philadelphia is still in operation).
  • 1946 - First fully electronic computer was invented by Physics Professor John Mauchly and Teaching Assistant John Presper Eckert at The University of Pennsylvania.

Our Philadelphia office is very close to the state and federal courts, as well as the various locations where administrative hearings are held.

We are very deeply involved in and dedicated to the social, business and charitable aspects of the Philadelphia metropolitan community. Our firm's level of commitment has resulted in special recognition by, among others, the United Way. In 1996, the Delaware Valley Total Quality Consortium recognized our firm for excellence in leadership and service. The firm's members are very active with the Insurance Society of Philadelphia and, on a number of occasions, have been publicly recognized by the Society for their continuing contributions.

It is at this Philadelphia location where administrative, accounting, quality assurance, management and information management functions are centralized.

If you were to visit any of our offices, and we warmly invite you to do so, you would find a winning corporate culture where there is an unmistakable emphasis on providing a high level of service to our clients, achieving outstanding litigation results and a willingness to work closely with our clients in fashioning new and cost-saving approaches to litigation expenses. It is manifestly clear that we are an entrepreneurial law firm that is well positioned to meet the needs of our clients in a cost-effective manner.

Our clients enjoy rapid access to our management system. To underscore this fact, we invite you to call our President and CEO, Thomas A. Brophy, Esquire, with any inquiries you may have regarding our firm. His direct dial number is (215) 575-2748 and his e-mail address is tabrophy@mdwcg.com. Consistent with our firmwide policy, you will not be asked, "Who is calling?" but, rather, "What can we do for you?"
