Colleen Bannon and Diana Cortes Appointed Co-Chairs of Philadelphia Bar Association's Federal Courts Committee

Marshall Dennehey attorneys Colleen Bannon, Shareholder and Director of Legal Information Resources, and professional liability associate, Diana P. Cortes, have been appointed the 2017 Co-Chairs of the Philadelphia Bar Association's Federal Courts Committee. Ms. Bannon also served as the committee's Vice-Chair in 2016. The committee serves as an informational liaison between the federal courts covering the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and members of the bar, and organizes the federal Bench/Bar conference held each spring. Their terms became effective on January 1, 2017.

At Marshall Dennehey, Ms. Bannon maintains an active practice primarily devoted to privacy and data security matters. She also leads the firm's E-Discovery program, where she applies her combined experience in litigation and information technology to provide clients with legal counsel. A graduate of Holy Family College and Temple University School of Law, she is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute.

As an associate in Marshall Dennehey's Professional Liability Department, Ms. Cortes focuses her practice on civil rights litigation, defending clients in state and federal court against claims involving use of force, wrongful arrest and land use. She also handles claims involving municipal liability, employment law and negligence. Previously, she was an Assistant District Attorney for the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office.

Ms. Cortes is a graduate of the Cornell University School of Industrial Labor Relations and Villanova University School of Law. She is an active member of the Hispanic Bar Association of Pennsylvania and the Philadelphia Diversity Law Group.
