UC/WC 101 Benefits Roundtable

Niki Ingram, Director of the Workers' Compensation Department, and Tony Natale, a shareholder in the department, are speaking at the UC/WC 101 Benefits Roundtable hosted by the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry. Covering the key basics of workers' compensation and unemployment compensation, the program will help attendees improve program management by providing answers to commonly asked questions, updates on the latest changes to the law, explanations as to how and when benefits apply, and suggestions on how to eliminate mistakes and potentially save money.

Niki and Tony are presenting "Worker’s Compensation Benefits 101: the Flow of a Claim, and WC Fraud," in which they will discuss:

  • The basics in workers’ compensation obligations and benefits.
  • The basic benefits that companies must offer and a review of the key forms that most companies must submit to the WC Bureau.
  • The essentials in claims reporting and filing.
  • The actions to take if fraud is suspected.  

Tony is also presenting "Unemployment Compensation Benefits 101: Relief from Charges, Separation Eligibility including Voluntary Quit and Willful Misconduct, UC Fraud." This presentation will include discussion on the following topics:

  • General information and what’s new in Pennsylvania’s UC program.
  • Who is eligible to receive benefits.
  • UC requirements for new hires.
  • Understanding separation eligibility and separation fact-finding issues.
  • Determining relief from charges.
  • How to deal with discharge issues, voluntary quit scenarios, and/or willful misconduct.
  • The actions to take if fraud is suspected.
