Devoted to civil defense litigation, Marshall Dennehey is looking for individuals who want to represent our clients before judges and juries in the trial and appellate courts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Florida, Delaware and Ohio. Our roster of attorneys boasts a number of this nation's leading defense litigators. Our firm's open door management style and the assignment of attorneys to one of our practice groups enable new associates to work closely with and learn from these experienced trial attorneys.
Our firm has a varied and dynamic practice. As demonstrated by a number of different practice groups, our attorneys are involved in every aspect of defense litigation. Our clients are local, national, and international businesses of all sizes, as well as professionals and individuals.
A distinguishing feature of our firm is our remarkable record of internal stability. Many of the attorneys in our shareholder ranks have been with us for a considerable number of years and, in numerous instances, this is the only law firm for which these men and women have chosen to work. Not only does this provide comfort to our clients, but it also promotes the continued growth of our partnering relationships between our attorneys and clients. We also maintain an excellent rate of support staff longevity – more than 20 percent of our paralegals, legal secretaries, administrative assistants and office management personnel have been with the firm for ten or more years.
A "Best Places to Work" that Is Welcoming to Women
We are extremely proud to have been selected, for the fifth consecutive year, as one of the Philadelphia region's "Best Places to Work" by the Philadelphia Business Journal. This award, received from 2013 - 2017, reflects the firm's achievements in creating a positive work environment that attracts and retains employees through a combination of benefits, working conditions and company culture. We are equally proud to have been recognized by Law360 in its 2017 Glass Ceiling Report as a Best Law Firm For Female Attorneys and a Best Law Firm for Female Partners. Additionally, we were gratified to be named to the Pennsylvania Bar Association's "2014 Honor Roll of Legal Organizations Welcoming Women Professionals." This award was presented by the PBA's Commission on Women in the Profession in recognition of Marshall Dennehey's programs and initiatives that help women attorneys continue and advance in their professional careers.
Diversity and Inclusion
Our staff consists of diverse individuals who enjoy working together. The make-up of our firm reflects the diverse communities in which we practice and the juries and judges we appear before. We are deeply committed to equal opportunity employment and advancement, and our employees include a considerable number of minority and female attorneys, professional and support staff who execute important responsibilities within the firm as highly effective defense attorneys and as valuable members of our management structure.
Recruitment and the Summer Associate Program
Our recruitment of potential top notch litigators begins with our Summer Associate Program. Each year, the firm is committed to hiring second year law students to spend the summer before their final year of law school working at our firm. The primary purpose of the Summer Associate Program is to identify qualified law students new attorneys who may be offered the opportunity to join Marshall Dennehey after graduation. Many of our attorneys began their legal career at the firm as a Summer Associate.
We believe that a Summer Associate's experience should reflect what it is like to be a first year associate at the firm. The goal is to introduce these aspiring litigators to as many different attorneys and practice areas as possible. This way, the firm can make an educated decision on whether to extend an offer to a given summer associate, and the associate can make an educated decision on whether to accept an offer.
Lateral Hires
In recent years, a number of accomplished attorneys have joined the ranks of our litigation staff to meet the continued demand for our services in defending significant litigation matters. If you have an accomplished professional record that is aligned with the legal services we offer our clients, we are interested in hearing from you.
