Senior .NET Programmer/Analyst - 5+ Yrs Experience - Philadelphia, PA

The law firm of Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin seeks a full time Senior .NET Programmer/Analyst to join its growing Center City Philadelphia office.

The Senior .NET Programmer/Analyst will be a lead member of our .NET development team and will build and maintain enterprise software applications and related integration components using a variety of technologies and platforms, including MVC, Windows Forms, REST Web services, ASP.NET, and others as required to support internal requirements.   This is a new leadership position which will require strong mentoring, code review, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, deliver and maintain applications, frameworks, and integration components using a mix of new and established technologies within the Microsoft stack
  • Assist the Manager, Application Development Services in day-to-day coordination and oversight of development activities, including but not limited to code review, architecture and design, requirements gathering, effort estimation, and task management
  • Consistently deliver high-quality code and documentation within agreed-upon timeframes
  • Provide and execute suggestions to optimize and streamline existing frameworks, business and development processes, coding practices, and data practices with an eye toward continuous improvement

 

Required Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in application design and development using a variety of .NET technologies and languages, including C#, VB.NET, Javascript, Jquery, ASP.NET, Windows Forms, ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework, and WCF, including a minimum of 2 years as a lead developer
  • Experience in creating, designing and maintaining REST Web services and SQL databases; strong understanding of database design and REST principles
  • Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis
  • Ability to consistently translate user and business requirements into practical and effective application designs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to effectively communicate, brief, present, train, and negotiate with a wide range of personnel and vendors
  • Experience in leading code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and promoting best practices within a development team
  • Experience in leading successful delivery and deployment efforts for complex multi-developer projects
  • A strong interest in learning and promoting usage of new technologies

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior law firm experience is a plus
