Financial Systems Analyst - 2+ Yrs Experience - Philadelphia, PA

The law firm of Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin seeks a full time Financial Systems Analyst to join its growing Center City Philadelphia office.

The Financial Systems Analyst is the primary liaison to the Accounting and Finance department and Information Technology.  The successful candidate will work with managers and staff of the firm's accounting department to support and extend financial system capabilities, design and develop custom solutions, and maintain financial data sources and associated reports.

This position is a member of the Information Technology team based in the firm's Philadelphia headquarters and reports to the Manager, Application Development Services.

  • Primary IT responsibility for support of accounting and finance applications, including the firm's accounting system and associated systems including time entry, conflicts, new business intake, client exceptions, collections, , business intelligence and financial reporting
  • Coordinates with accounting and finance management, as well as IT management, to prioritize and address issues and objectives for financial systems
  • Primary contact for financial software vendors and consultants;  manages active request backlogs and ensures that work is done accurately and within acceptable timeframes
  • Manages, documents, automates and continuously improves integrations between financial systems and the firm's other data sources
  • Responsible for testing financial system applications during system changes, enhancements, upgrades and monthly system maintenance
  • Develops stored procedures and generates reports using SQL queries and BI tools
  • Researches applicable technologies and solutions; evaluates products and makes reasonable recommendations for improvements to IT management
  • Works closely with Application Development Services and IT team members to ensure exceptional performance and reliability for Accounting systems
  • Develop strong relationships with key personnel throughout the firm in order to better align team activities with firm objectives and user needs



  • At least 2 years experience supporting financial applications in an IT or Accounting role; law firm or professional services experience preferred
  • Exceptional work ethic: strong sense of ownership of personal and team work, doing what is needed without being asked, following through
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently or collaboratively based on project needs
  • Good interpersonal skills: respectful and team-oriented, customer-focused, receptive to feedback and embracing continuous improvement
  • Good understanding of SQL, including ability to build queries, integration packages (DTS/SSIS), views and stored procedures
  • Experience with Docudraft is a plus
  • NET development and/or scripting experience preferred
