He also has experience defending building contractors in property damage claims due to construction negligence. In his practice, Tom has defended physicians and hospitals in malpractice cases specifically those involving "brain damage" in utero.

Tom has, for many years, been involved with the defense of contractors and property owners in the defense of statutory liability claims brought pursuant to the New York Labor Law.  He also has experience in mass- tort litigation, the defense of private businesses in false arrest and malicious prosecution claims, and civil fraudulent conversion cases.

Tom began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Office of Frank Hogan, the legendary District Attorney of Manhattan, where he quickly began trying cases under the tutelage of seasoned and skilled prosecutors.  He was hired by American Express Company to oversee and manage its defense of lawsuits involving fraudulent Traveler's Check refund claims and thereafter worked at Jones Hirsch Connors Miller & Bull for 34 years where he primarily defended negligence claims at trial, many of them involving catastrophic injuries.

Tom practices mainly in the New York City metropolitan area but he has tried a number of cases in both northern and central New York.  He has commenced hundreds of jury trials and has taken almost 100 verdicts.  His rate of success over the years has been remarkable with a very high percentage of defense verdicts.
